Sports Therapy is an aspect of healthcare that utilises principles of sport and exercise science to treat and rehabilitate people with musculoskeletal disorders or conditions, as well as to prevent injury. It is concerned with restoring function and promoting optimal performance.
While my professional title is "Graduate Sports Therapist", I don't just treat sports injuries. My training allows me to apply the principles of biomechanics, physiology and pathology to a range of conditions that might be affecting your everyday life, your occupation or your sporting activities.
Following a thorough examination, we will discuss your diagnosis and treatment options then decide on the most appropriate plan for your recovery, with your goals in mind. Treatment might include soft tissue or joint mobilisation, electrotherapy, neuromuscular re-education or other modalities. It will certainly involve exercise therapy, with a tailor made rehabilitation plan targeting your aims and goals.

Sports massage is a form of soft tissue manipulation targeting muscles, tendons and other soft tissues of the body with the aim of restoring optimal function. There are many proposed benefits of sports massage, including reducing pain or discomfort, reducing muscle tension and restoring range of movement.
Sports massage incorporates techniques from Swedish massage along with other techniques like compressions, soft tissue release, PNF or MET stretching and I will often include some joint mobilisation techniques when appropriate too.
Not just for sports people, sports massage may benefit anyone involved in any physical activity and can be used as part of the treatment for many common injuries or conditions.

Home visits
Since the COVID-19 pandemic I have been offering consultations in the comfort of people's own homes. I will bring all the equipment I need with me, all you need to provide is enough space to set up a portable examination couch (approx. 6ft x 3ft).
If you are unable to attend the clinic, or would prefer the convenience of an appointment at home, please contact me to arrange an appointment. There is a small surcharge (£15.00) on top of normal appointment fees to cover travel time and costs.
During the course of a consultation I may decide that your issue may require further investigation or be more appropriately treated by another practitioner. In that case I can provide a referral letter detailing my findings and clinical opinion.
